Official documents a French authority will accept.

From €49.00 per certified page (250 words) · 3–5 working days

What this service is, and who it’s for

A certified translation carries a signed statement from the translator attesting that it faithfully reflects the original — the form French administrations, courts, and universities require before they’ll accept a foreign-language document. We handle the two things a receiving authority checks: the words, and the certification that says the words can be trusted. Where a specific procedure requires a sworn translation — produced or countersigned by a translator registered with a French Cour d’appel — tell us before you order and we’ll confirm whether we can provide it in that form for your document.

Most of our certified-translation clients are individuals: someone applying for a French visa or residency permit, marrying or naturalising in France, enrolling at a French university, exchanging a driving licence, or registering a company using documents issued abroad.

Sworn vs. certified — and why it matters

"Certified" and "sworn" are often used loosely, but a receiving authority may need one specifically. A certified translation carries our signed statement of accuracy — the form most administrative and academic procedures accept. A sworn translation (traduction assermentée) is produced or countersigned by a translator registered with a French Cour d’appel, and carries evidentiary weight in French courts and some specific administrative procedures. We’ll confirm which your document needs before you order, and tell you plainly if we can’t provide the sworn form for your particular case rather than guess.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between a certified and a sworn translation?
A certified translation carries our signed statement that it faithfully reflects the source document — the form most administrative and academic procedures accept. A sworn translation is produced or countersigned by a translator registered with a French Cour d’appel, and carries evidentiary weight in French court and some specific administrative procedures. Tell us which your receiving authority asks for, and we’ll confirm before you order whether we can supply it in that form.
Will a digital PDF be accepted, or do I need a stamped original?
It depends on the receiving authority — some prefectures and consulates accept a digital PDF, others require a stamped hard copy by post. Check with the office requesting the document, or ask us; you choose the delivery format when you order.
Can you provide an apostille?
An apostille is issued by the relevant government authority (in France, generally the Cour d’appel), not by a translation provider — we can’t add one ourselves. If your document needs one for use abroad, that’s arranged separately from the translation, and we’re happy to explain the order of operations.
Is a certified translation from Quantum Translator valid outside France?
Requirements vary by country and by the receiving institution. We’ll tell you plainly if we’re not sure your specific use case is covered, rather than guess.
What if my document is longer than one page?
Order the number of certified pages your document needs — the purchase module totals the price live as you adjust quantity.
